The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cherif Omari, said, on Thursday in Blida, that the National Office for Livestock Feeds (ONAB) has started the distribution of a large quantities of white meat, estimated at 60,000 qx, on the markets with a view to breaking up the prices, which have risen in recent times.

“The ONAB has started the destocking of 60,000 qx of white meats, as part of the measures undertaken by the State, to regulate this agricultural sector and put an end to speculation”, the minister said in a press statement , on the sidelines of the kick-off of a solidarity caravan for the benefit of needy families affected by sanitary confinement in the province.

Ensuring, moreover, the “permanent availability of the State, thanks to its stock and its interventions, to thwart”, he said, “any attempt of speculation, and lower the prices so as to put them within the reach of citizens “, while emphasizing the” availability of white meats in sufficient quantities “.

Besides, the minister highlighted that this solidarity caravan targeting 6000 families, “will be followed in the future by other similar operations, which will be added to the series of solidarity initiatives, which the province has benefited from, since the declaration of this health crisis “, ensuring, moreover, that the State has” mobilized all its deposits of cereals, milk powder and agricultural products, for the supply of the citizens of Blida, since the beginning of the spread of the pandemic Covid-19 “, he said.
